Making positive change - for you and the environment

Making positive change - for you and the environment
It's a new year and your feeds are probably filled with friends and family announcing their resolutions, goals, and changes planned for 2018.
And that's great!
But, as you've also seen every year, most resolutions last a few weeks, maybe a few months, and then gradually get lost in busy lives.
Resolutions can be faced with guilt, disappointment, or stress as they become difficult or unmanageable.
Perhaps it's even happened to you.
Whether it's a resolution or a goal, make it manageable.
Nothing happens overnight. (except maybe a new zit)
There are a zillion resources out there that can tell you how to make small changes, or actionable goals, or a keep-able resolution.
But, how about just making small changes? They can be as small as one day, choosing to shop with reusable bags. Another, inviting more gratitude into your life.
Change is inevitable over time, but what we can do is focus on small changes and make them purposeful. Don't just change because it's the new year or because your friend posted on Facebook they were changing x, y, or z.
Make small changes for you, your family, and your environment. Is your overall priority personal health, relationships, career, or perhaps a state of mind like gratitude?
Keep a journal - or a post-it note - or a list on your phone - of small changes you want to make. Or, write a mantra that reflects what matters to you and keep that as a reminder to you. See how small changes can help instill that mantra and priorities into your day-to-day.
Once you make changes a few times, who knows, they may just become a habit.
